Preview: Return of Allan Okello Makes KCCA Genuine Title Contenders

The return of Allan Okello at KCCA FC has made the Kasasiro Boys strong contenders for this year’s title.

The Magic boy left KCCA in 2020 to join Paradou but his spell in Algeria failed to live as advertised, and he has been loaned back to KCCA.

He is gifted with ability to create chances and always reserves time to find the back of the net.

With Shaban Muhammad and Moses Waiswa the other big additions, Morley Byekwaso has no excuse if he fails to deliver to the fans expectations.

And the game against Wakiso Giants come a day after the defending champions were held at home to Bright Stars.

“Our target as KCCA FC is to win trophies and we have used the preseason to see that we put out team in shape so that we can achieve your targets,” said Coach Morley.

“We have boosted up our attacking strength with the addition of players like Okello, Shaban and Waiswa to work more on the creative role. Last season we struggled to convert the few chances we created.”

Byekwaso believes his side is in a good state to collect maximum points having lost to Wakiso Giants on last day of the 2021/22 season.

“Psychologically, we were a bit tortured as we had already lost the championship by the time we faced Wakiso Giants last season,” Morley explained.

“And they found us when we were not settled but this time we are more prepared.”

John Ayala Luyinda

Wakiso Giants start their new life under head Coach John Luyinda Ayala who will be in charge of his first league game as the manager.

Luyinda replaced Alex Gitta.

“It is exciting to see football back and I believe in the preparations we have had,” Luyinda said.

“We are ready not only for the Saturday clash but the entire season. Playing against KCCA is always tough and it will be but we are mentally and physically ready to battle and optimistic of picking a good result.

“It is going to be a long season and we expect each member of the squad to play a part. The ultimate target is to be competitive and do better than last season and also play an entertaining game that will surely give us the backing on every match day.”
