The Uganda U-18 women national team captain Phionah Nabulime has highlighted the team’s readiness for the forthcoming CECAFA U18 tournament that will take place in Tanzania between 25th July-8th August.
After the second day of training at the MTN Omondi Stadium, Lugogo, Nabulime revealed that there is alot of positivity in the camp.
“The mood is right, we are working together, the girls are working hard. We believe we are going to Tanzania to compete because we want to come back home victorious,” Nabulime stated.
“There’s a dream we are chasing, if we continue sticking together, we shall achieve our target. It is our dream and we are going to fight for it,” the captain affirmed, emphasising how united the team is.
Despite the previous distractions caused by uncertainty surrounding the tournament, as the dates had to be changed twice, and the venue was changed too, Nabulime is confident that the team is now focussed.
The team that was assembled on Monday started training on Tuesday also had a double (morning and evening) training sessions on Wednesday.
Meanwhile, Nabulime will be assisted by Sharon Norah Kaidu in this campaign.
