Contract Termination: Allan Okello, Paradou Part Ways

Ugandan midfielder Allan Okello has parted ways with Algerian outfit Paradou AC.

The player confirmed the development on his official Facebook account.

“I want to express my gratitude to Paradou AC for the journey we’ve had together. After careful consideration, we have mutually agreed to terminate my contract,” read part of the players statement.

“This decision was not made lightly, and it comes after extensive reflection on both my personal and professional aspirations. I believe this is the right step for both parties, and I’m excited for the next chapter in my career.”

“I want to thank the fans, my teammates, and everyone at the club for their support throughout my time here. I will always cherish the memories we’ve created together. Wishing the club continued success in the future.”

Okello had joined the Algerian first division side in 2020 for a reported $200,000 (over UGX 700M) at a time he was regarded by many as the brightest prospect in the domestic league.

In Algeria, Okello was frustrated, as he struggled for playing time along the way, and in September last year, the midfielder completed a move back to Uganda, to KCCA in a bid to rediscover himself.

Lugogo is a familiar territory for Okello, and it didn’t take him long to fit in again. Upon his return to KCCA, he was immediately the star of the team again, scored six goals and recorded six assists to be voted amongst the best three midfielders of the season, alongside Vipers captain Milton Karisa and Arua Hill’s Gaddafi Wahab.

Okello was introduced to the Ugandan football scene at KCCA, under Mike Mutebi, who handed him his debut in 2017 and went ahead to feature for the club up to January 2020.

His remarkable debut came on 27th February 2017 against Onduparaka FC where he bagged a hat trick in the 7-1 mauling.

He then moved to the Algerian outfit on a four-year deal after featuring in 112 games at KCCA FC with 39 goals.
