Ojera Seals Multimillion Deal To Egypt

Ugandan winger Joachim Ojera has completed a deal worth millions after switching from Rwanda Premier League side Rayon Sports to Al Mokawloon Al Arab SC in Egypt.

Ojera is only waiting to be unveiled by his new team, as the Rwandan club has already bid farewell to the player, and appreciated him for all the good memories they had for th short time he was part of the ‘Gikundiro’ squad.

“All the best to Joackiam OJERA🇺🇬 for his next chapter in Egypt. Having spent a year with our club, he will be remembered for his positive contributions,” Rayon Sports announced.

The North African club parted with around $ 20,000 to land Ojera’s signature – that is 25 million in Rwandan francs, and over UGX 76 million when converted into Ugandan Shillings, according to a source from Rwanda, as confirmed by Pulse Sports Uganda.

Ojera had spent just spent one year in Rwanda, after joining Rayon Sports on loan from Uganda Premier League side URA FC in the 2023 January transfer window.

His first six months with Rayon Sports were fruitful, and the club opted to acquiring his services in a permanent two-year deal, of which he has only served half season, and now leaves with one and a half years still left on his contract.

In Egypt, Ojera will link up with another Uganda Cranes player Joseph Ochaya At AI Mokawloon, plus two other Ugandans Richard Basangwa and Allan Kyambadde at Wadi Degla and El Dhakeleya, respectively.
