Ndejje University Angels delivered a stunning blow to the UCU Canons, securing a 76-72 victory and handing the Canons their fourth defeat of the season in a riveting showdown in the National Basketball League at the Lugogo Indoor Arena.

Ndejje seized a 24-18 lead in the first quarter and maintained their advantage for the best part the game.

Despite facing adversity with the ejection of their coach, John Omondi, due to complaints about officiating, Ndejje remained resilient, clinching a crucial win.

The match witnessed intense back-and-forth action, with UCU mounting multiple comeback attempts, including tying the game thrice in the final quarter.

However, it was James Obrack’s clutch layups in the closing minutes that secured Ndejje’s well-deserved triumph.

Christian Ndibu led the charge for Ndejje with an impressive performance, tallying 16 points and 12 rebounds, while James Obrack and Jonathan Oketch contributed 15 and 13 points respectively.

Despite Peter Sifuma’s commendable double-double of 27 points and 21 rebounds for UCU, it wasn’t enough to tip the scales in their favor.

Although UCU dominated the rebounding battle with a commanding 60-38 margin, their efforts were hampered by turnovers, totaling 24 for the game.
