Kitara FC face Pajule Lions in the first leg of the Uganda Cup semifinal in Masindi, with both teams vying for a crucial advantage.

Sitting comfortably atop the Uganda Premier League standings, Kitara FC enters the semifinal clash with confidence, eager to exert their dominance against Pajule Lions, a team competing in the regional league.

Kitara’s journey to the semifinals was highlighted by their dramatic shootout victory over reigning champions Vipers.

And their resilience was on full display in their recent fixture against Express, where a 97th-minute goal by Kabon Living secured them the win, showcasing their unwavering determination and winning mentality.

However, Kitara will face challenges in the absence of key players. George Ssenkaaba, their top scorer in the competition, remains sidelined, while defender Ibrahim Magandaazi has been ruled out for the remainder of the season.

But Kitara remains optimistic about their prospects, especially considering the quality of their squad.

On the other hand, Pajule Lions, hailing from Pader district, have already defied expectations by reaching the semifinals. Their journey has been characterized by home advantage, having secured victories against Nsambya, Young Simba, and Pakwach Young Stars on their home turf.

However, facing a formidable opponent from the Uganda Premier League presents a new challenge for the underdog side.
