FUFA Big League table leaders Police scored five unanswered goals past relegation-threatened Kyetume to extend their lead at the top with a huge five-point gap.
Raymond Onyai, Herman Wasswa twice, Steven Kabuye and Reagan Male were all on the score-sheet, and goalkeeper Edward Kasibante kept a clean-sheet as Police put up a five star show at Kavumba.
It was just the perfect response from.the Cops who had just lost their last league game 1-0 away to Blacks Power in Lira.
At Kavumba on Sunday, opened the scoring in the 26th minute to put the hosts ahead. He perfectly curled that ball in from Brian Obedi’s cut back cross inside the box.
Police went into the half time break with a slim 1-0 lead, until the last 20 minutes of the game when they ran riot against their struggling visitors.
In the 70th minute, Wasswa scored his first of the day to double Police’s lead, before adding another less than ten minutes after.
Wasswa, in the 77th minute bagged a brace, making it 3-0 in favor of Police. He converted from the spot, following a penalty that was awarded to the hosts after Steven Kabuye was brought down in the box by the Kyetume goalkeeper.
With just two minutes left to clock 90, Denis Kalanzi made a dazzling run from the right wing, crossing for Steven Kabuye to tap -in from close range.
Reagan Male was also well positioned to score easily from Herman Wasswa’s assist to make it 5-0 for Police against Kyetume.
After 23 games played now, the Cops will maintain their number one position on the 15-team table, and have now moved to 47 points, that’s five points clear at the top, following Lugazi’s goalless draw with Kataka.
Kataka are second on the table, with 42 points from 24 games, while Lugazi sit in third position, with 41 points from 23 games.
