KCCA FC Responds To Vipers Claims On New Signing Andrew Kawooya

KCCA FC has answered back to claims that their new signing Andrew Kawooya is still contracted with rivals Vipers SC.

This is the latest development since KCCA FC unveiled 17-year old Kawooya on Sunday as their new signing ahead of the 2020/21 season.

On Monday, in an exclusive interview with The-SportsNation, Vipers director Haruna Kyobe said that KCCA FC should “expect war” for signing a still contracted player with the Kitende-based club.

Kyobe said that Kawooya signed a minor’s contract with Vipers with the consent of his parents.

KCCA FC Assistant CEO Michael Kirunga is also certain that they used the right means to acquire Kawooya, who is a form Five student at St Mary’s SS Kitende.

Kirunga has asked Vipers to provide proof for their allegations.

“He who alleges must prove,” Kirunga told The-SportsNation. “If Vipers have proof, then let them produce it.”

It is expected that Vipers will petition FUFA over the transfer of youngster Kawooya to KCCA FC.

The attacking midfielder has played for Lweza, Proline and Vipers JT in the FUFA Junior league.

He has represented Uganda Under-17 at the 2018 CECAFA and 2019 AFCON tourneys.
