UCU lady Cardinals are through to the semi finals of the FUFA Women Super League after they beat Olila High School 1-0 the FUFA Technical Centre in Njeru.
Shadia Nankya scored the all important goal to see that the Cardinals seal a place to the next stage.
Coming into the last games, UCU, She Corporate and Olila High School all had a chance to secure a place to the semi finals.
Knowing that they needed a win to progress, Nankya took responsibility and ensured her side earned the victory.
She scored at the stroke of half time scoring from a direct free kick and her goal was the difference on the day.
The result sees UCU Lady Cardinals finish top of group 2 with nine points, one point above Lady Doves who went through on Friday.
On the other hand, She Corporates who also came into their final game with a chance of qualification didn’t make it despite thrashing Isra Soccer Academy.
Noeline Namiiro scored a brace, Ronah Nantege, Susan Atim, Phiona Nabumba were all on the score sheet for the Corporates.
Lady Doves Fazila Ikwaput finished as the top scorer with 7 goals, UCU Lady Cardinal’s Hasifa Nassuna in the second with 3 goals.
In the Semi finals, UCU takes on Uganda Martyrs while Lady Doves face Kawempe Muslim.
