We Shall Fight For Three Points Against Mali – Khalid AUCHO

Uganda Cranes Midfielder Khalid Aucho has vowed that his team will fight for maximum points against Mali at the St Mary’s stadium Kitende.

Uganda Cranes started their campaign in the World Cup Qualifiers with a goalless draw against neighbours Kenya on Thursday at the Nyayo National Stadium in Nairobi.

The Cranes who played their first competitive game under coach Milutin Micho Sredojevic were on the receiving end of the game but managed to pick a point.

Speaking in a brief interview after the team’s arrival from Nairobi, Aucho stated:

“The game we played against Kenya wasn’t bad because we were away, so we made sure that if we don’t win atleast we should get a draw so that we can fight for three points at home against Mali on Monday.”

Aucho captained the Uganda Cranes after Emmanuel Okwi picked an injury at the stroke of halftime.

“Now we are back, the coach will give us more tactics that we shall use against Mali,” he added.

“All the players are okay, no one was seriously injured, but there were some minor injuries but I think by Monday everyone will be fine.”

Uganda’s next assignment in the Group E World Cup Qualifiers is against leaders Mali on Monday at the st Mary’s stadium Kitende.

Mali are top of the Group E after edging Rwanda 1-0 in the opener while Uganda sits joint 2nd with Kenya after a goalless draw with their East African counterparts Rwanda sits bottom of the Group.
