Police FC On Right Track – Coach Lonyesi

Abdul Nsereko came off the bench to score for Police

Police FC Head Coach Angelo Loyesi said that the big win against Calvary FC is a step in the right direction as they target UPL return.

The gaffer expressed his contentment after his side won 4-0 at Kavumba in a FUFA Big League game on Thursday.

Goals from Hassan Kikoyo, Reagan Male, Dennis Kalanzi and Nsereko Abdu cemented the win.

“I am very impressed with the Boys’ performance and on top of that scoring four goals for the first time this season,” Lonyesi said after the game.

“We had a very good performance and that’s what you need because any match you play you do not repeat it.

“This is our way to Super Division now, the club is heading into the right direction.”

Lonyesi was also impressed with the chemistry of the team and highlighted the good involvement of the new players Denis Kalanzi and Abdu Nsereko.

Against Calvary, Police finished the game with 10 men after goalkeeper Davis Mutebi was sent off.

But Lonyesi remain unmoved, saying that his second choice goalkeeper Samon Oloka will still do a good job.

“Mutebi’s absence due to the red card won’t affect us so much because our second keeper is also actually good, so Mutebi’s absence in the team won’t change anything,” Lonyesi commented.

It is a result that sees Police move joint top, tied on 37 points with Kitara and NEC.

Police will visit Kyetume at the Nakisunga Ssaza ground in match day 20 hoping to maintain the momentum at the top.

The Top three teams at the end of the season will earn promotion to Uganda Premier League next season.
