Busoga United Out Of Relegation After Late Winner

Thomas Ochungo Scored a late goal for Busoga United against UPDF in the league encounter at the FUFA Technical Centre in Njeru.

The goal came in the 88th minute for the hosts to break UPDF resilience.

Busoga United put an end to their five games winless run against UPDF since 2018 and it came at a time when they needed it most.

In their quest to avoid relegation, Busoga United have won two consecutive games in the second round, keeping a clean-sheet in each after a 2-0 away victory over Blacks Power.

This is only their third home win in nine games this season.

For Brian Ssenyondo and UPDF, it’s a setback as they continue to slip closer to rock bottom – They are currently on 12 points

The Army side are winless on the road this season and this is there seventh defeat away from home.

UPDF unbeaten second round start in the league is no more after consecutive 1-1 draws with Express and BUL FC.

However, they are winless this year in all competitions after they were ejected by Ankole Regional League side Bunyaruguru United in the Uganda Cup.

Busoga moves out of the relegation zone up to the 12th with 15 points after 17 Matches while UPDF drop to 13th with 12 Matches.
