City Oilers flipped the switch and activated their beast mode to demolish Power in a one sided game on Friday at Lugogo.

The win was cooked right in the first quarter where Power managed just two points courtesy of a lay up by Elvis Ssentongo, to trail 02-21.

In that first quarter, Power shot 1-for-21 from the field, not to mention the four free-throws missed by Stephen Otoa and Sam ad Imran.

The Oilers, who also beat KIU Titans 71-59 in their opener a week on Friday, led 39-21 at halftime as they turned Lugogo into an abottoir.

And when they sensed Power’s vulnerability, they started showboating. Titus Lual twice dunked, Fayed Bbale showed off with a behind-the-back pass, Jimmy Enabu set an alley-hoop, Henry Mulira crossed over at will while Michael Ngut turned a facilitator.

Luak Ruai meant business and top-scored with 23 points, including five-threes. Baale shot 6-for-10 from three to garner 20 points while Enabu (14), Ngut (13), Ivan Muhwezi (11) and Lual (10) scored in double figures.

James Okello had his minutes reduced to 7 as coach Mandy Juruni rested his big man, and all Oilers players except Ben Komakech appeared in the scoring column in a game they won by 57 points!

Very few teams, if any, will go toe-to-toe with Oilers this season as this looks like their best roster ever assembled.

But not to take away much from the eight-time champions, Power on the other hand barely threatened from the word go and Oilers turned the contest into a training session.

Power turned over the ball 30 times in a game only Isaac Afidra and Samad Imran, both on 11 points, scored in double figures.

They missed 23 of their 26 attempts from three, revealing more work for coach Timothy Odeke who is in charge of a team that is low on confidence and quality.
