Andrew Ayew: Ghana Captain Released By Nottingham Forest

Ghana Blacks Stars captain Andrew Dede Ayew has been released by his English club Nottingham Forest.

The Premier League side made the confirmation on Friday, with five other senior players leaving the club.

The other five are CafĂș, Jack Colback, Jesse Lingard, Jordan Smith and Lyle Taylor.

Ayew joined Nottingham Forest in January window, then signing a short contract until the end of the 2022/23 season.

He was involved in 13 League games, but didn’t register a single goal in the campaign Forest finished the season four points above the drop.

“The club would like to thank each player for their contributions during their time at The City Ground,” reads the statement in part from Nottingham Forest.

Ayew was without a team after leaving Qatari side Al Sadd when he joined Forest.

He is the most capped player in Ghana colours, with 113 matches and has featured at the last three World Cups.

He has won the AFCON U20 and World Cup U20 with Ghana.
