Nam Blazers managed to return to the winning column thanks to a 75-48 victory over Ndejje University Angels in the National Basketball League on Sunday at Lugogo Indoor Arena.

The Blazers came into the game needing to bounce back from Friday’s 52-72 defeat against defending champions City Oilers.

And they got the win they wanted thanks to an improved show to collect their first win in the second round.

Michael Makiadi collected a double double of 16 points and 13 rebounds while Paul Odongo and Chuol Nyuot added 12 and 11 points respectively.

New signing Julius Trumane who had a nightmare debut against Oilers, collected 7 points and 11 rebounds.

Jonathan Oketch and Joseph Kumbai scored 17 and 12 points respectively, with the latter adding 13 rebounds to seal his double double, in losing effort.

Ndejje had ended the first quarter 10-all with Nam Blazers, but failed to had their wheels fall off and could only score just five points in the last quarter!

It’s a disappointing result for Ndejje who on Saturday got a walkover against Kampala Rockets after colour clash in jerseys.

Besides Jonathan Okech, the whole Ndejje bench combined for just one point!

Coach Stephen Nyeko will happy for the result but the team’s performance is still lacking a spark after they shot 0-for-20 from three against a team that turned the ball 40 times!
