Bashir Asiku’s recent actions have resulted in serious consequences, as the FUFA Disciplinary Panel (FDP) has decided to impose a five-match suspension on him.

This disciplinary action comes in response to his behavior following the match between his club, Wakiso Giants FC, and URA FC on the 21st of October 2023 in Lugazi.

The FDP invoked Article 13(1) and 13(3) of the FUFA Ethics and Disciplinary Code to justify their decision.

The ruling from the FDP provides a detailed account of Asiku’s misconduct.

It states that Bashir Asiku attacked the match officials in the dressing room after the game, causing damage to the room by hitting the window and shattering the glass.

“In the process, match officials were injured due to the actions of the mentioned player,” reads part of the statement.

In addition to the five-match ban, Asiku has been handed a substantial cash fine of UGX 500,000, equivalent to Five Hundred Thousand Uganda Shillings.

This financial penalty is conditional, as he must settle the fine in full before he can resume any football-related activities.

Wakiso Giants games Bashir Asiku will miss:
•Vipers (A) – October 31
•Express (H) – November 11
•NEC (A) – November 25
•BUL (H) – December 1
•Arua Hill (A) – December 5
