UCU seeks to reclaim victory as they face off against the Magic Stormers in the National Basketball League showdown scheduled for Wednesday at the Lugogo Indoor Arena.

In their previous fixture, the Lady Canons experienced a setback, succumbing to a 68-75 defeat against the defending champions, JKL Lady Dolphins.

Despite trailing by over 18 points at one stage, the Lady Canons exhibited resilience, narrowing the gap to a single-digit deficit towards the end of the game. This display of determination stands as a beacon of hope amidst their recent challenges.

That defeat marked their second loss this season in seven games, following an earlier setback against the KCCA Leopards, where they fell 53-74.

However, they remain optimistic about their prospects against the Magic Stormers, a team that has shown inconsistent form throughout the season.

Under the guidance of coach John Omondi, the Magic Stormers have secured victories in two out of their six games, with recent wins over A1 Challenge and UPDF Lady Tomahawks.

Bolstered by a well-balanced lineup, the team boasts a formidable backcourt led by Daphine Adong, complemented by a strong frontcourt featuring Kur Ajah, Atulinda Maureen, Christine Nakitto, and Ruth Nambirige among others.

But in UCU, the Stormers will be up against a well-oiled machine under the leadership of coach Nicholas Natuhereza.

Reflecting on their past encounters, UCU and Magic Stormers split victories during the regular season last year. While Magic Stormers clinched a 56-45 win in the first round, UCU dominated the second round fixture with a convincing 77-57 triumph.
