Police FC defeated Jinja North United FC at the Kavumba Recreation Ground to register their tenth win in the betpawa Big League this term.

Goals by Ivan Eyam, Joseph Ssentume, Isaac Ogwang and Herman Wasswa ensured that the Cops comfortably won 4-1 at home.

The Cops put four past Bright Stars in the League Cup last weekend, and they have just scored four against Jinja North in the league on Sunday, at the same venue.

In the Big League game against the Jinja based side, the Cops had upto four changes from the starting eleven that demolished Bright Stars at Kavumba in the Stanbic Uganda Cup last weekend.

Daniel Jakony, George Kiryowa, Martin Owalamu and Samuel Kayongo all started for Police against Jinja North, as Robert Edmond Otim, Ahmed Amayo, Allan Bukenya and Daniel Otto all returned to the bench.

Ivan Eyam broke the deadlock in the 40th minute with a fierce low drive on the near post, and the Jinja North goalkeeper had no chance at saving it.

Barely ten minutes into the second half, captain Joseph Sentume doubled the hosts lead with as pulled off an acrobatic move to divert the ball from a corner kick into the back of the net.

At 70 minutes, Jinja North pulled one back, but Isaac Ogwang restored the Cops two-goal cushion as he scored in the 83rd minute from a powerful and we’ll executed freekick at 25 yards.

Two minutes after scoring Police’s third, Isaac Ogwang paved way for Herman Wasswa, who scored barely three minutes after coming on.

Wasswa scored fr his first touch to make it four for the Cops, putting the game very much far beyond Jinja North’s reach.

The Cops, who have also lost only once and drawn six times so far this season have now gone to thirty six points after 17 games. Implying that no team can go ahead of Police until atleast the next game week.

The second placed team has 34 points after playing their 17th game, while Lugazi FC in third position have 32 points, having played a game less.
