Bamweyana Faults Referee For Vipers Draw

2nd Assistant: Gilbert Ngyendo
Fourth official: Muzamiru Waiswa
Referee Assessor: Amin Aziz Bbosa

Wakiso Giants FC Head coach Douglas Bamweyana has blamed referees for his side’s draw against Vipers SC at Kabaka Kyabaggu Stadium.

Viane Ssekajugo canceled Shaban Mohamed’s strike in a one-all draw on Saturday.

“We were not exactly playing on a level playing field,” Bamweyana said about the biasness by referee.

“Whoever watched the game would assume we were probably like a foreign (away) team in some aspects.

“Because we just didn’t have luck from the referees, there were so many calls which could have at least produced two genuine goals inside the box but the officials might have seen it differently.”

Wakiso have drawn their opening three games – They opened with a goalless stalemate with Police before a 2-2 at home to Kyetume.

Bamweyana remains disappointed with the results so far but he believes that there is still a lot his side needs to work on.

“We are generally disappointed with the returns so far, because when you look at our games played, we certainly deserve better but we can’t change what has come to us now,” he stated.

“We feel too bad and unfortunate that in the three games we played, the results are not equal to what we put out on the pitch, we expect and think that we would have got more, but Its very unfortunate to be in position we are in now despite the work we put in.

“We still have a lot to do, to improve a lot of things and create more, movement in the box, movement off the ball and still to be a little more courageous, especially showing determination inside the box and elsewhere.”

The purple sharks have three points out of three game played and they are 10th on the log.

Next Tuesday, Wakiso Giants will making a trip to Arua to play Onduparaka.
