Masaza Cup 2021Quarter finals
Tuesday, 21st December 2021:
*Kyaggwe 2 (2) – 2 (3) Mawokota

*Bulemeezi 2-1 Busiro

Bulemeezi and Mawokota became the other two sides to storm the semis after the Quarter final games climaxed on Tuesday at the FUFA Technical Centre in Njeru.

In the first game of the day played at noon, three time Champions Mawokota beat Kyaggwe 3-2 in a penalty shoot-out after normal time had ended in a 2- all draw.

At normal time, Kyaggwe’s two goals came from Gerrard Ogwetti (penalty) and Tabu Simon while Tonny Kiberu and Isaac Oforywoth scored for Buwekula.

Meanwhile in the second game of the day, Bulemeezi scored late in the game to advance to the Semi finals of this year tournament.

John Ben Nakibinge scored in the closing stages to see his side seal a place to the next stage, adding on Hakiramu Muzanyi’s first half Strike.

Ibrahim Kasenge scored the only goal for Busiro as they bowed out of this year’s Masaza Cup tournament.

In a repeat of the 2019 finals, Busiro started the better side, dorminated play and it wasn’t a surprise when Kasenge put them ahead in the 5th minute of the game.

However, despite conceding first, Bulemeezi remained composed, kept on Knocking and it wasn’t a surprise when they got one before the interval.

At the stroke of half time, Muzanyi headed in home to level matters, putting his side back into the contest.

In the second stanza, it was a closely contested affair as both sides barely created clear cut chances as they seemed more compact at the back.

However, Bulemeezi, who had got one back seemed the better side as they lanched various attacks to kill off the game.

Danger man Oscar Ssesazi saw his efforts from free kicks go wide on numerous occasions.

And with the game headed to the spot kicks in added time, Nakibinge scored the winner after collecting from a well delivered cross from left back Douglas Kizza Lule.

The two sides now join Buddu and Buwekula, who already sealed a place to the Semis.

In the semi finals slated for Thursday this week, Mawokota will be up against Buwekula while Buddu will take on Bulemeezi.
