•Busoga United 1-3 URA FC
Steven Mukwala scored a double as URA FC beat Busoga United in a rescheduled Uganda Premier League game on Friday.
Anwar Ntege halved the deficit against his former club to give Busoga United a fighting stance but substitute Ivan Sserubiru scored a beautiful freekick to seal a deserved win for the Tax Collectors.
Mukwala takes the headlines for his two good headers in the first half that sends the striker on top of the leading goal scorers charts with 11 goals.
The forward who netted twice recently against Bright Stars, will fancy his chances to take the golden boot like he did in 2019/20 at Maroons where he took it with just 13.
He will however feel lucky that his opening goal was allowed to stand as he was in offside position when Arafat Galiwango delivered his cross.
His second was orchestrated by Ibrahim Dada who made quick step overs before weighing in a beautiful cross that Mukwala headed in off a strong bounce.
Playing at Kakindu stadium for the first time this season, Busoga United were commendable going forward but will feel hard done by their poor defending.
Ntege sent Alionzi Nafian the wrong way from the spot after Galiwango tripped Hassan Kintu in the box in the 50th minute.
And when it looked like Busoga United could get anything from the game, Sserubiru scored from freekick, sending his effort into the top corner to give goalkeeper Delton Oyo no chance.
The win sends URA FC third with 28 points while Busoga United remain three points adrift of safety.
