Fufa Women super league side Uganda Martrys Lubaga WFC will be seeking to close the gap at the top when they visit Olila High school in Soroti on Saturday.

The Lubaga based side has been impressive since the start of this year’s campaign as they currently sit second on 13 points, five behind current leaders Kampala Queens.

They have picked back to back wins at home, beating Makerere University 2-0 and humbled UCU with a 4-1 convincing win at home in their previous game.

Kevin Nakacwa, Latifah Nakasi, Catherine Nagadya and Sumaiyah Nalumu were on the scoresheet as Uganda Martyrs picked a deserved win over UCU last weekend.

Speaking ahead of their game, their team captain Catherine Nagadya admitted that they are ready to keep going.

“We have prepared very well for this game. Our last meeting with them didn’t go well. But right now we are prepared, yes it’s a stubborn team at home but we need these points since we have set targets, Nagadya told the club’s media on Friday.

On Saturday, against Olila, there will be no room for error as they keep sights on keeping pressure on current leaders Kampala Queens.

Once again, their Captain Nagadya, who has been involved in seven goals so far (six assists and one goal) will be tasked to do the same against Olila so as to lift her side.

Meanwhile the hosts Olila will be seeking to end their winless when they host the Lubaga based side on Saturday.

Olila have had a poor run of results, losing four consecutive league games with each coming against Kawempe Muslim, Asubo Gafford, She Corporate and Kampala Queens in their recent game.

And they are currently sixth with only six points collected from six games so far.

Back at home in soroti, Infront of their home fans, it will be time to put things right if they are to avoid dropping to the red zone.

But in Uganda Martyrs, they host a high flying side and they must be at their best to pick a needed result on Saturday.
