Kawempe Muslim Seek to bounce back as Uganda Martyrs visits

Kawempe Muslim WFC will be seeking to bounce back to winning ways when they host Uganda Martyrs Lubaga at the Kawempe Muslim grounds on Saturday.

The Ayub Khalifa coached side lost to Kampala Queens in their previous match last weekend at Kabojja grounds.

But they felt proud for their performance that day, despite conceding what was a controversial Penalty that saw Kampala Queens pick a narrow 1-0 win.

That loss left them in the 5th position with 10 points after eight games so far in the season.

Back at home at the Valley yard, they will have all eyes on maximum points to get back on track.

In Uganda Martyrs, they face another tricky side that has sights on Keeping in the race and a big test awaits Ayub Khalifa’s charges.

The pair of Hadija Nandago and Shakira Nyinagahirwa, who have been the shinning stars at Kawempe this season will be tasked to carry on the team on Saturday.

Meanwhile the Visitors, Uganda Martyrs will be seeking for more points to keep pressure on current leaders Kampala.

The Lubaga based side came from a goal down to beat Lady Doves 2-1 at home, thanks to goals from Catherine Nagadya and Sumayah Nalumu last weekend.

That win ensured that they moved to 16 points in the third position and are just eight points below current leaders Kampala Queens.

Speaking ahead of game, Uganda Martyrs captain Catherine Nagadya said that they will follow coache’s instructions to get the needed points.

“We have prepared very well since it’s the last game in the first round. As players we are good to go, we want to follow the coaches instructions and get the needed points, she told the club’s media on Friday.

This being their last game in the first round, Uganda Martyrs who have been a high scoring side this season will be hoping for the same in another tricky visit to Kawempe.

Once again, their Captain Nagadya, who has been brilliant this season with now six goals will be tasked to do the same on Saturday against Kawempe.

Elsewhere, UCU, who are seated second with 16 points will be hoping to keep pressure on leaders Kampala Queens when they take a long visit to Masindi against Lady Doves on Saturday.
