Preview: Vipers Seek To Persevere Without Yunus

Vipers will continue to miss out striker Yunus Sentamu when they host Onduparaka in a league game at St Mary’s Stadium in Kitende.

Sentamu, joint leading goal scorer in the league with seven goals also missed their game against Gaddafi, a game they coincidentally lost.

The Venoms are a Tiger with Yunus, but a cat without him in the ranks.

Against Gaddafi, Cromwell Rwothomio started up front but the former URA target man was taken off just before halftime for Nigerian striker Abubakar Lawal.

The decision looked cruel as Rwothomio had not received enough supply, and it showed as his replacement also failed to make an impact.

It’s strong to note that both Rwothomio and Lawal are yet to find the back of the net this season.

Milton Karisa and Ibrahim Orit, the latter who scored a goal against URA as Vipers survived without Yunus, will be asked to step up and carry part of the scoring burden.

Against Onduparaka, they face a team devoid of motivation and yet to win a game this campaign.

But with the addition of Steven Bogere as their new head coach, the Caterpillars might step up at Kitende.

But they have lost their last three away games this season. And they visit Kitende, a place they have lost all their visits.

Last season, Halid Lwaliwa scored the only goal as Vipers won 1-0 against Onduparaka at Kitende.
