Preview: Must Win For Title Chasing SC Villa

SC Villa will not afford to slip when they visit relegation-threatened UPDF at the Bombo Barracks Ground in a crucial Uganda Premier League tie.

The Record champions are level on 46 points with leaders Vipers and second-placed KCCA with only goal differences between them.

Against UPDF they will fancy their chances as they seek to keep pace with both Vipers and KCCA.

Anything less than a win will hinder their chances of winning the league and will hope for favour from BUL and Express who will be playing KCCA and Vipers respectively.

And given that they are short on goal difference in comparison to Vipers and KCCA, the Jogoos will want to score more.

Villa will hope to complete a double over UPDF for the first time since 2016/2017 season.

Coming into this game, SC Villa fell to a 1-0 away defeat against Maroons in Luzira.

For UPDF, just like Villa, it’s also a game of high importance as they hope to shrug off relegation woes.

With 26 points, the Army side are six points above the drop zone.

In their previous game, they played a one all draw with URA at Mehta stadium, Ivan Ahimbisibwe cancelling out Viane Ssekajuko opener.

The Army side will hope to revenge their 2-0 defeat in the reverse fixture.
