Wasswa Bbosa Handed Mbarara City Job

Uganda Premier League new entrants Mbarara City have appointed Wasswa Bbosa as their head coach, The-SportsNation has learnt.

With the club yet to make an official announcement, this website understands that Bbosa has been handed a one-year contract at Kakyeka.

Bbosa beats Livingston Mbabazi and Baker Mbowa who were also candidates for this job.

He replaces Sadiq Ssempigi who agreed to leave the club after helping the side to Uganda Premier League promotion.

Bbosa joins the Ankole Lions after ending his stay at Jinja-based side Gaddafi FC, where he spent just a season.

Bbosa won the Uganda Premier League at Express in 2021, their first League title since 2011/12 season

And he later lifted the CECAFA Kagame Cup at Express later that in August 2022, the first in club history.

He moves to Mbarara City with loads of experience having handled teams like SC Villa and Tooro United among others.

His main task at Mbarara City will be helping the side compete for higher positions, but the realistic target is to see the club survive relegation before a new contract is negotiated.

As usual, Bbosa will be expected to move with about three or four players to Mbarara City to bolster their squad.
