Preview: Buoyant KCCA Fancy Chances At UPDF

KCCA aims to capitalize on their recent resurgence as they head to Bombo for a league match against hosts UPDF.

Following a challenging start that later saw the dismissal of head coach Sergio Traguil, KCCA seems to have found their footing with consecutive victories, propelling them to the 10th spot in the standings.

Their most recent success was a well-deserved 2-1 away win against SC Villa in the Kampala derby at Wankulukuku.

Newly appointed head coach Abdallah Mubiru remains cautiously optimistic about their progress, stressing the team’s continual need for improvement ahead of the upcoming clash with UPDF.

Mubiru emphasized, “Our focus is on gradual progress, aiming to exceed our previous performances, one game at a time.”

“We’ve stressed to the players the importance of unity; cohesion will be a pivotal element for us this season.”

In contrast, UPDF has faced struggles, enduring a winless streak of five league games and failing to secure a victory against KCCA in previous encounters.

Currently positioned second from the bottom with only nine points from 12 games, UPDF faces a looming threat of relegation this season.

Their recent league games witnessed a string of disappointing results, including a 1-1 draw with Mbarara City and a 2-1 defeat against Bright Stars at Kavumba. UPDF will aim to rectify their performance in the upcoming match.
