Robert Ssentongo, Veteran Striker, Joins URA FC’s Coaching Staff

Veteran striker Robert Ssentongo has reunited with URA FC, this time in a coaching capacity.

His appointment was announced through the club’s official website on Wednesday morning.

Ssentongo, a former player with a historic legacy at the club, returns to bolster URA’s striking department.

During his playing days at URA, Ssentongo clinched the top scorer title in the 2011-12 season (13 goals), 2014-15 (15 goals), and 2015-16 (18 goals).

His achievements include securing one Uganda Premier League title and two Uganda Cups with the Tax Men.

Ssentongo joins a roster of club legends already contributing to URA, such as Allan Munaaba, serving as the club’s CEO, and former goalkeeper Allan Owiny involved in the goalkeeping department.

In his new role, Ssentongo aims to refine the skills of URA’s strikers, including promising talents like Bruno Bunyaga and Ivan Ahimbisibwe.

Currently, David Obua’s URA FC holds the seventh position in the league with 17 points from 12 games played in the season.
