Watch Ikara’s blunder:

NEC surged back into contention for the Uganda Premier League title with a hard-fought 1-0 victory against BUL, played under the Lugogo floodlights.

BUL’s goalkeeper, Tom Ikara, found himself in the spotlight for the wrong reasons, as his stupid error allowed Tah Barni Kelvin to secure the solitary goal of the match.

Ikara’s attempt to retrieve a header that was going very wide led to an unintended slide out of play, inadvertently providing Kelvin with a golden opportunity to capitalize on the gift and expertly place it into the net.

The victory sends NEC to fourth with 43 points, three below joint runners up BUL and Vipers who will be facing off in the next match-day on Wednesday, May 1 at Namboole.

NEC are four points behind leaders Kitara but still have to face Vipers and SC Villa, both hosting them at Lugogo.

It’s still a wonderful season for NEC, who will face BUL over two legs in the Uganda Cup semifinals.

The defeat sees BUL waste a huge opportunity to return to the top of the Uganda Premier League.
