FUFA Appoint Ghanaian As New Uganda Cubs Coach

Football governing body in Uganda, FUFA has appointed Ghanian Coach Samuel Paa Kwesi Fabien as the new Uganda National U17 football team, the Uganda Cubs, coach.

The Ghanian, a former Asante Kotoko Coach has been given a one year contract.

“His arrival will greatly improve us,” said a pleased FUFA President Moses Magogo in a Press Briefing on Wednesday morning at Mengo.

“Its our dream that we be able to break into the top leagues in Europe to strengthen, and that is why we have brought in someone with experience,” Magogo added.

Fabin who comes with plenty of experience after leading Ghana Junior teams to world tournaments, will work with Jackson Magera as his assistant.

In his brief remarks, the Ghanaian commented:

“Its my pleasure to be here in Uganda, am here on a mission to guide the young ones in their endeavours.

“The time is very short but I will give it the best of my short, they need a lot of patience but I will need maximum cooperation of everyone.”

The Coach’s immediate task is to guide the Cubs team to an upcoming TOTAL Africa U17 tournament.

The Cubs, who were recently in Turkey, will leave for South Africa on April 1st for another training camp. They will then reach Tanzania on April 11 before facing Angola on 14th April against Angola.
