Uganda bombers captain Shadir Musa Bwogi has said that the postponement of Olympics will give him more time to prepare for the most prestigious sports event.

The Tokyo 2020 Olympic games were on Wednesday postponed until next year due to the coronavirus pandemic.

They were to take place on 24 July but have been pushed to 2021 at a date yet to be determined.

Shadir, on Saturday February 29, became the only Ugandan boxer to qualify for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics after the Africa Boxing Championship held in Dakar, Senegal.

First of all, the problem is general and it’s been talked about and sorted by experienced bodies after sitting together and decide,” Shadir commented about the decision to postponement the Olympics.

“I fell normal because it will push me to have more time to correct my mistakes and learn more styles and techniques.

“Though I lack financial support but I am eager to remain working out and keep the body in shape.”

Shadir Musa beat Ghanaian Lartey Sessie in a box-off fight to book a ticket to the Olympics.

He had earlier told this website that he will turn professional after the Olympics.
