Uche Mubiru’s Hearts Relegated

Karl Anthony Uchechukwu Mubiru Ikpeazu’s Hearts were relegated following a decision from SPFL to end the season.

Celtic were confirmed as Champions for the ninth straight season, after 12 clubs agreed to end the season due to the Covid19 pandemic.

Mubiru, born in London holds both Nigerian and Ugandan parentage and agreed to play for the Uganda Cranes.

The forward was one of the three new faces based in United Kingdom summoned by Cranes coach Jonathan Mckinstry for the AFCON double header against South Sudan, which was later postponed.

He is a former Reading Academy player who also played for Watford, Crewe Alexandria, Doncaster Rovers, Port Vale, Blackpool and Cambridge United. He signed for Hearts of Midlothian in April 2018.

This season, he has played 23 games and scored two goals for Hearts, but the tally has proved not enough to rescue his side.

Bottom-placed Hearts were four points below Hamilton with about eight games to go. Average points per game played was used to determine the final placings in SPL.
