Today (September 4, 2020) marks exactly three years since Uganda Cranes ended the Africa Cup of Nations Jinx.
In 2016, Farouk Miya scored the only goal as Uganda beat Comoros to book a priceless ticket to Gabon.
Former Uganda coach Sredejovich ‘Micho’ Milutin has looked back on the day with pride.

Uganda finished second in the group with 13 points behind Burkina Faso, and qualified as one of the two best runners-up.
Despite failing to make a mark in the 2017 AFCON – finishing bottom of group D behind Egypt, Ghana and Mali – The achievement set a platform for another return at the stage in 2019.
Micho started Uganda’s 2019 AFCON Qualification campaign when he guided the team to a crucial 1-0 away victory at Estádio Nacional de Cabo Verde, Praia in Cape Verde on June 11, 2017.
A month later, on July 29 2017, at Kabira Country club, Micho announced his resignation from Uganda Cranes coach due to unpaid wages.
He has since referred to Uganda as his “first love” and confessed that he has maintained a strong relationship with FUFA.
