‘Skills’ To Succeed Twinamatsiko At Booma

Micheal ‘Skills’ Lukyamuzi is set to join Big League side Booma as head coach, this website can reliably confirm.

The former NEC tactician has been out of action since stepping down from his role at the club in June 2023.

Skills, as he’s popularly known promoted NEC to the Uganda Premier League (UPL) for their first time ever.

Booma, an ambitious side in the second division would like to use the coach’s proven expertise to help them attain their main target this season – promotion to the tip flight.

Skills comes in to replace former Booma head coach, Mark Twinamasiko whose contract was terminated just months into his two-year agreement.

Booma finished 7th last season, and came back more focused this term, to once again seek for promotion to the top division.

Under Twinamasiko, Booma had won just two of their last 8 league games, both with 1-0 margins against Calvary and Kaaro Karungi respectively. They since went on to draw thrice and lost the same number of times.

Skills now finds Booma currently sitting 8th on the 15-team table, with 33 points after 21 games – comprising 9 wins, 6 draws and 6 losses.

The Masindi-based side is 7 points below the top three, of and 11 points below leaders Police (44).

Skills is expected to start work immediately, with an away fixture coming up for Booma this weekend, against Kyetume on Sunday, April 28 at the Nakisunga Ssaza Ground in Mukono.
