There seems to be no light at the end of SC Villa’s struggle to get new leadership.
The-SportsNation sources have learnt that the Club’s founding members have written to FUFA opposing the upcoming Presidential Elections.
Dennis Mbidde and Medard Sseggona were earlier confirmed as the two candidates for the Villa Presidency last August.
In dramatic turn of events, on August 28, the Elections were stopped following a court injunction after Brenda Nambalirwa Kawuma filed a petition.
The petition punched holes in then Villa Electoral Commission and cited that Villa members were not enlighted about the whole process.
Shortly after, FUFA ordered Villa to put their house in order saying that the club was already “behind schedule” for 2021/22 Season Club Licensing.
Villa resolved to return to interim committee.
This week, FUFA said that they were approached by SC Villa requesting to have the FUFA Electoral Committee (FEC) organise the club elections by the October 23 2021.
Consequently, the FUFA Electoral Committee named Joram Katende (Member of FUFA EC) and Rev Father Kimbowa to join the Villa Electoral Committee.
Sources have it that SC Villa trustees led by Omar Mandela have written to the Federation to stop the Elections.
“I have not been in Office since yesterday due to an ongoing Women Football Licensing, but let me cross check and see,” said FUFA CEO Edgar Watson when by asked by this website if FUFA has received a petition from Villa founding members.
It is also said that the Founding Members have also moved to replace acting CEO Shawn Mubiru with Brenda Kawuma.
