Muzamir Mutyaba joins New Club in Rwanda

Express FC Midfielder Muzamiru Mutyaba has joined Rwandan Side SC Kiyovu Sports on a two year employment contract , The SportsNation has learnt.

It has been confirmed that the former KCCA FC Midfielder will touch down in Kigali on Wednesday to complete his move to the Rwandan side.

He will be joining from reigning UPL Champions Express FC, a side that he joined in January this year signing a short term contract at the Wankulukuku based side.

At Express FC, Mutyaba helped the side lift last Season’s Uganda Premier League title and was also a key member as the Red Eagles lifted the 2021 CECAFA Kagame Cup that was held in Tanzania this year.

At Kiyovu, he joins Uganda Cranes Captain Emmanuel Okwi, who signed a one year employment contract at the start of this month.

Prior to Making his move to Express, Mutyaba enjoyed a lot of success at Lugogo based side KCCA FC, since his arrival in 2015 from Victoria University. He managed to win several titles including three league titles, Uganda Cup (2) and Pilsner Super 8 and Fufa Super Cup.

Mutyaba’s acquisition will prove to be a big addition to the Rwanda side as he brings in a lot of experience to a side that is in search for their first league title since 1993.

Who are Kiyovu Sports?

Kiyovu Sports Association, more commonly known as S.C. Kiyovu Sports, Kiyovu Sports or Kiyovu, is an association football club based in Kigali, Rwanda. The team currently competes in the Rwanda National Football League and plays its home games at Mumena Stadium or Amahoro Stadium.

The club has won five league titles, three trophies, and one super cup, and was the only Rwandan club to go a whole season unbeaten in 1990.
