Uganda Cranes XI: Bevis Mugabi Starts Against Kenya

Lanky Defender Bevis Mugabi has been named in Uganda Cranes XI to face Kenya Harambee Stars in the World Cup Qualifiers at St Mary’s Stadium in Kitende.

This will be his first game after the Motherwell player missed the four opening games due to UK travel restrictions in Covid19-red listed countries.

Mugabi will play with Israel-based player Timothy Awany in the heart of defence as the Cranes seek for maximum points to maintain pressure on Group E leaders Mali.

Charles Lukwago, yet to concede a goal so far, starts in the posts while KCCA veteran Denis Iguma and Vipers youngster Aziz Kayondo are deployed at fullback positions.

Captain Khalid Aucho will man the midfield alongside Bobosi Byaruhanga and SuperSport United’s Moses Waisswa.

Isaac Muleme is a wingback on the left side while Steven Mukwala is at the opposite end to feed lone striker Fahad Bayo who will seek to find the back of the net like in Rwanda’s double header.
