Dick Okello Listed for AFCON Final Tournament In Cameroon

Uganda’s Assistant Referee Dick Okello has been appointed by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) referees committee for the forthcoming 2021 Africa Cup of Nations Tournament in Cameroon.

It’s another incredible milestone for Okello who this year became the first Ugandan to officiate at the CAF Champions League final.

The AFCON list has 24 Referees, 9 Video Assistant Referees (VAR) and 31 assistant referees.

Born in Lira, Dick Okello who celebrated his 31st birthday on 5th December, is a professional school teacher and acquired his the FIFA badge in 2017.

Recently, he was the assistant referee at St Mary’s Stadium in Kitende during a league game between Vipers and KCCA and was spot on to award Vipers a goal after Bobosi Byaruhanga’s late equaliser had bounced from inside the net.
