Preview: KCCA FC Seek Return To Summit

KCCA FC will be hoping to return to the top of the log when they host Mbarara City at Lugogo.

Morley Byekwaso’s charges are seated second with 28 points, just a point below leaders Vipers.

After Vipers lost to Arua Hill, KCCA can reclaim top spot with a win on Wednesday.

This is their first game since the match with Onduparaka in Arua was abandoned in added time over crowd trouble.

And the players are expected to show that anger on the pitch after the club expressed their discontent with FUFA ruling following the Disciplinary’s order to replay the game.

“We are as prepared as usual, we are ready in all departments and we want to do our best to win at home. It’s going to be a hard game, they have strong and resilient players,” said KCCA FC coach Morley Byekwaso.

“But there is some thing we have changed this season; the boys have that desire to win and reflects the winning mentality. We are not yet there and we want to continue pushing them get more points.

“We are not that clinical yet but somethings do not happen immediately and it’s something we are still working on that.”

Brian Aheebwa and Innocent Wafula will be pointing guns at former bosses.

In Mbarara City, they face a wounded side that just lost at home to Gaddafi and will be hoping to forge a return to winning ways at all costs.

Asking them to win away from home is a big task for side that is yet to score an away goal this season – They have drawn once and lost the other five games on the road.

Mbarara City are 12th with 14 points after 13 games this season so far as pressure continue to mount on coach Hussein Mbalangu.

Mbarara City is one of KCCA FC’s bogey side; In fact, KCCA FC have won twice in all the eight meetings in the league between the two sides.

Last season, Souleymane Bamba (own goal) and Sam Ssenyonjo goals helped KCCA FC overcome Mbarara City at Lugogo.
