Allan Okello Wants to End KCCA’s Trophyless Run

KCCA midfielder Allan Okello has vowed to end his side’s trophy less run ahead of the new season

The youngster made a return to the club last week on a one year loan deal from Algerian side Paradou SC.

In his first interview with the club, the Kcca graduate first expressed his delight to be back home.

“It’s good to be here, I’m ready to work hard, do the best for the club and it’s my duty to do my best and I have to give 100 percent on the pitch, we need to work together me and my teammates to give the best for this club.

On his first day at the club, Okello said “It was amazing the guys were so welcoming, I felt at home again, It was good to be back again.”

Okello had left the Lugogo based side in January 2020 for Algerian side Paradou SC.

But at the Algerian club, things didn’t work out well for him and thus being loaned back to his home club.

“I’m back, ready to work with my teammates and hopefully we shall be happy at the end of the season.

Before his departure, Okello had won the hearts of many KCCA faithful and to many football lovers in the country given his rich statistics at the time. He had scored 39 goals in 112 appearances and provided 16 assists across all competitions in his last stint at Lugogo.

Adding in that, he had won titles, helped the team advance to CAF champions League group stages and also won the Airtel best footballer of the year before his move to Algeria.

But ever since then, KCCA has spent over three seasons without a silverware.

And now, he wants to bring back to bring back that lost glory at the club.

” i believe and hopefully I’m going to give in more assists and work as a team. I want to do my best for the team, the fans are going to be happy again, the smiles will be back on their faces again, it’s been a while without a trophy. We just need their support.”

On his return, Okello finds more new faces, in players and now head coach Morley Byekwaso, who was then an assistant to former coach Mike Mutebi.

He will be hoping that things can work his way so as to bring back the lost glory at the club.

KCCA will open their new Uganda premier League season with a home game against Wakiso Giants and Okello will most likely mark his debut.
