Pilsner UPL Awards: SC Villa Duo Among Nominees

Uganda Premier League leaders SC Villa pair have been nominated for Pilsner Player and Coach of the month.

Forward Bbaale Charles and his Coach Jackson Magera Kaddu have been considered for the April awards.

Magera was also nominated for the coach of the month of February/March, and he went on to beat Sam Timbe of URA and Maroons’ Muhammad Ssenfuma.

The Pair were integral in SC Villa’ three wins in April against Bright Stars, Wakiso Giants and Vipers.

However, they saw their side lose two games last month to KCCA and Arua Hill.

Bbaale scored four goals in April – Against Bright Stars, a brace against Wakiso Giants and KCCA. He only failed to score against Arua Hill.

SC Villa are top of the log with 46 points in 25 matches, by press time.

Bbaale will compete with Strikers Shariph Kimbowa of Wakiso Giants and Arua Hill’s Innocent Media.

While Magera has been nominated alongside Viper’s Alex Isabirye and James Odoch of Express.

Kimbowa scored three goals in April in five matches however, he never won any game after two defeats and two draws.

He wasn’t in the squad against Onduparaka due to yellow Cards accumulation.

He was on target in a 2-1 loss to URA, 3-1 defeat to SC Villa and a one all draw with Express.

Kimbowa’s Wakiso Giants are 8th on the log with 32 points in 25 matches.

Innocent Media scored three goals in five matches he played last month. A brace against Gadaffi FC and the other came against Villa.

He helped Arua Hill to two victories, two draws and a defeat.

He missed the game with UPDF at Bombo Barracks Ground due to injury.

It’s the second time Media is nominated after falling short to Maroons Goalkeeper Tamale Simon in March.

Arua Hill sits fourth on the log with 37 points in 24 matches.

Alex Isabirye has managed six matches in April, winning three, two draws and just one defeat.

He beat Blacks Power, UPDF and Arua Hill, drawing with URA and Maroons and lost to Villa.

Isabirye’ Vipers sits third on the log with 42 points after 22 matches.

They are four points behind leaders Villa with three games in hand.

James Odoch guided Express to two wins in April and two draws ending the match unbeaten in four matches.

They defeated BUL and Busoga United and drew with Bright Stars and Wakiso Giants.

Odoch side are in the 10th place with 30 points after 24 matches.
