Rugby: All Set For Uganda Cup

The Groups:

Group A – Heathens, Walukuba, Tooro Lions, Kyambogo, Rams

Group B – Pirates, Elgon Wolves, Kitgum Lions, Eagles, Buffaloes

Group C – KOBS, Njeru Hurricanes, Mbarara Titans, Warriors, Mongers

Group D – Rhinos, Jinja Hippos, Gulu City Falcons, Lira Bulls, Impis


The 2023 Rugby Uganda Cup kicks off this weekend, promising an exciting season.

With 20 teams distributed across four groups, the top two from each group will advance to the Quarterfinals.

In the previous year, Heathens secured the Uganda Cup title by defeating Stanbic Black Pirates 20-14 in Entebbe.

Despite Pirates’ recent triumphs in the League and Sevens, Heathens, the record winners with 12 titles, aim to defend their stronghold, while Pirates seek a treble, having won the title in 2007 and 2017.
