CHAN: Uganda Cranes Earn First Leg Advantage

Uganda Cranes beat Somalia 3-1 away from home in Djibouti in a game played at the Al Hajji Hussein Gouled stadium.

Cranes striker kaddu Patrick gave Uganda an halftime lead from the spot in the added three minutes of the first half.

The numerous attacks by the cranes yielded results when midfielder Shafiq kagimu was fouled and lefter back Mustafa Kizza curved in a freekick at the far post to double the advantage at the hour mark.

Vipers SC former captain Taddeo Lwanga gave Cranes a comfortable lead 20 minutes after Kizza scored to make it 3-0 before Somalia scored a consolation.

Uganda Cranes will now play the return leg on August 3, at the Startimes stadium in Uganda.

If it all comes to pass, Uganda will face winner between South Sudan and Burundi for a ticket to 2020 CHAN in Cameron.
