CHAN: Lwaliwa Positive Ahead Of Burundi Tie

Uganda Cranes defender Halid Lwaliwa is hopeful that they will pick a needed result from Bujumbura when they face off with Burundi in the first leg of CHAN qualifiers.

Ugandatouched base in Burundi on Thursday ahead of Saturday’s first leg kickoff.

Lwaliwa who also plays for Vipers SC, is among the new faces on the team which didn’t play the first round qualifier when Uganda ousted Somalia by 7-2 on aggregate.

He is expected to partner KCCA’s John Revita in the heart of defence.

“We want to win in Burundi,” noted Lwaliwa. “We have strengthen and hope that we can finish this tie on away because we have a good team.”

“We have prepared our selves so well for this match as players, we have got enough training and we hope for positive results in Burundi. Ome of our target is not to conceded a goal.”

Lwaliwa who had to endure an knee operation months back, is one of the four Vipers players in Burundi. Dan Mzee Sserunkuma, Fahad Bayo and Paul Willa are the Venoms.

The return leg will be played on October 19th in Kampala and the winner on aggregate from both ties will automatically book a spot in finals which will be hosted by Cameroon come next year.
