Warriors managed to edge KIU Titans 47-39 to take a 1-0 lead in the best of three quarter final encounter at the Indoor Arena in Lugogo.

The game lacked intensity, ball movement was utterly poor as both sides struggled at both ends of the court in a low scoring game.

Warriors will be the happiest on the night after benefiting from KIU’s slow start to clinch the win in a less eventful affair that never lived as advertised.

Despite the victory, Warriors shot an ugly 18 of 53 from the field and were 15% from beyond the arc in a game they made 26 turnovers and fetched only 8 points from the bench.

Amisi ‘Carmelo’ Saidi was player of the match after garnering 14 points, while Gatwech Kutai added 12 for the Kyambogo based team.

Michael Bwanga (11 points, 7 rebounds) was the only KIU player who scored in double figures. Francis Kasinde and Sudi Ulanga added 7 points each but in a losing effort.
