Member of Parliament Allan Ssewanyana has expressed his disappointment in the government for giving a deaf hear to his complaints about FUFA boss Moses Magogo’s alleged involvement in sell of 126 World Cup tickets in 2014.
Ssewanyana, shadow minister of Sports and also doubles as the Chairman of Big league club Katwe United, petitioned FIFA’s Ethics and integrity committee in Zurich, Switzerland on 2017 about Magogo’s ‘illegal’ handling of World Cup tickets.
Consequently, Magogo, on Saturday in Adjumani, announced that he will stepping down for two months to allow FIFA carry out the investigations into the matter.

Ssewanyana, speaking to the press on Monday in a briefing held at his office in Makindye, noted that the government bodies – Ministry of Education and Sports and Criminal Investigation Department – have not looked into the matter despite lodging the case to them about two years ago.
“I thank FIFA for closely following up with interest my petition implicating Magogo as having acted in breach of FIFA statutes, disciplinary code and articles 13, 18, 19, 20, 21 and 22 of the FIFA code of ethics that I sent,” said Ssewanyana.
“However, allow me extend my dissatisfaction to the various organs of government that have failed to pick kin interest in this matter as an agent matter of national interest. The bodies – Ministry of Education and Sports & CID – should update us about which stage are their investigations.
“Government’s objective is to fight corruption, but they have taken years without giving us a response. This is not my personal case, and it’s not political.”
Ssewanyana also added that its a shame that pressure has come from FIFA while Uganda government is busy looking.
He added:
“Madam Janat Museveni, your Ministry should be the first body to fight for the integrity of sports in the country. How will Ugandans be sure that money given out is received by the good hands if you can’t handle the petition to the dot?”
The MP also revealed that what Magogo is saying that he will step aside for only two months is also wrong, clarifying that Magogo will be out until FIFA finishes their investigations which may take even a full year.
