In-form Police FC will be seeking to extend their recent surge when they host misfiring Kyetume FC at Lugogo.

The match will be played at lunchtime before KCCA FC take on Tooro United at the same venue.

Police are coming into this one at the back of two consecutive wins against Wakiso Giants in second round opener courtesy of Ben Ocen and Andrew kigozi goals, and an impressive 6-1 win against six time champions Express FC on Wednesday.

Despite being 11th on the log with 18 points from 17 games, Police FC are not yet safe from relegation zone as there is a difference of only two points separates them from the drop.

“The boys displayed character, attitude and importantly had fun with themselves. We refocus again on our next game,” Coach Abdullah Mubiru on his twitter handle following his side’s 6-1 win against Express.

A win for the cops will see them climb up as high as eighth on the log where they will leapfrog Wakiso Giants who return to action on Sunday against Onduparaka.

Apart from three straight wins in a row, Mubiru’s troops will also be looking forward to complete a double after 1-0 win in reverse fixture in October last year.

Police will bank on Ocen who has scored in their last two games, Derrick Kakooza and Pius Kaggwa who both bagged a brace each in Police’s last encounter.

Kyetume FC on the other hand, are also not far from relegation; 13th on the log with only 17 points from 17 games.

Kyetume will be looking to bounce back after failing to win any of their two opening games in the second round.

Coached by Jackson Mayanja, Kyetume lost 1-0 to Vipers SC at Kitende before a one all draw with fellow strugglers Tooro United on Wednesday at the might Arena.
