KCCA Men: Norman Blick Among Released Players

KCCA Men (Panthers) has released Norman Blick among other players before the season tips off next month, The-SportsNation sources have been told.

Blick, one of Uganda’s best players of all time, joined KCCA from JKL Dolphins.

He has played with KIU Titans, D-mark Power, Sky Jammers, Nkumba Marines, Warriors in a career that started way back in 1995.

The 36-year old forward, with five NBL titles, also had a stint in Qatar with Al Rayyan in 2006.

He played only 12 games for KCCA last season where he averaged 11 points. He scored 13 points as KCCA lost to Warriors in what stands as his last game with the team in the playoffs.

His scoring stats were only bettered by Francis Mbuyi last season at the club.

Veteran Geoffrey ‘Jeff’ Omondi who joined from City Oilers has also left the club.

Congolese duo Marc Mathe and Gius Mahamba also leaves the club after a season since joining from Warriors.

Former Captain Escodata Stephen Nyeko,Andrew Gang, Baraka Mopele and Frank Ogola are the other players that have been showed the exit door.

Arthur Amebyona who played for Old Tymers (lower division) last season, is one of the new signings at the club.

KCCA is expected to bank on Mbuyi, Richard Ongom, Emma Ondongkara among others as they target another playoff spot.
