Timothy Awany’s Ashdod Fight Back As League Returns

Timothy Awany’s FC Ashdod managed to stage a dramatic comeback to 3-2 as the Israel Premier League returned.

The game played on Tuesday night saw goals from Roy Gordana, Sagiv Ezekiel and Dean David hand the hosts three points after going two goals down against Hapoel Ra’anana.

Awany played 69 minutes before he paved way for Nir Barda.

The league had earlier kicked off on Saturday in the championship group, for a league that was stopped in early March to stop the spread of Coronavirus.

The game was played at an empty Yud-Alef Stadium under strict hygiene guidelines.

In Israel, the death toll has risen to 289, with over 17,000 people infected of Coronavirus.
