Gomba proved too good for Kabula as they stormed the summit of the Masengere group in Masaza Cup tournament.

This was the second game in the muganzirwaza group after Buddu beat Ssese 3-0.

Charles Bbale scored a brace in the game with Lutakome Junior and Abdallah Ssentongo added a goal each in the deserved victory.

Gomba move top of the table with three points thanks to a better goal difference with Buddu.

Gomba could have got their opener in the first minute of the game but Bbale missed a keeper to beat opportunity.

In the 13th minute, Lutakome brushed in a header that went past Kabula’s goalkeeper Richard Sseguya to give Gomba lions their opener.

A few minutes later, Gomba came close to doubling their lead when Bbale’s effort was kept out for a corner.

Baale later put his name on the score sheet in the 28th minute when he taped home for Gomba’s second.

Kabula could have pulled one back just a few minutes after the start of the second half but Nasif Kabuye saved from the spot.

A few minutes later, captain Ssentongo made it three for Gomba, taping in from a corner.

Gomba looked more aggressive in the final third with Baale and Lutakome Junior proving a threat to Kabula’s defence.

In the 67th minute, Bbale sealed his brace, the fourth goal for Gomba, scoring from a spot to send the keeper the wrong side.

Gomba will be back in action against Ssese on Friday at 12pm.
